Hamna and Rihan win National Long-Distance Swimming Championship

Rihan Shihaam and Hamna Ahmed have won the National Long-Distance Swimming Championship.

The championship was held on Saturday at Kudagiri Picnic Island in four categories. The category where national-level athletes competed attracted the most attention during the championship.

Rihan won the men’s five-kilometer event after beating the previous champion, Ali Im’aan, who placed second, while Mohamed Neeg Niyaz won third place.

Hamna won the women’s five-kilometer event after beating Aishath Saushan, while Fathimath Anjal Fayaz placed third.

The National Long-Distance Swimming Championship was the first official sporting event held at Kudagiri Picnic Island since its grand opening.
