Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened applications for the posts of chief judge of the High Court and the Family Court.
In an announcement today, the JSC invited nominations to fill the two vacancies.
High Court currently has 11 judges, with judge Abdulla Jameel Moosa serving in an acting capacity.
The position became vacant after former chief judge Hussain Shaheed was appointed as chief judge of the Supreme Court.
JSC had earlier selected Justice Mohamed Faisal for the role following a previous vacancy announcement. However, he was not formally appointed after resigning amid corruption allegations, despite having been overseeing the court in an acting capacity.
The chief judge position at the Family Court became vacant after judge Ibrahim Mahir was appointed to the High Court.
The Family Court currently has seven judges.
