50 scholarships in Maldives related to heritage sector

The Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has said yesterday that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided that the government will give 50 scholarship opportunities in the heritage industry at the Masters level.

Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has said yesterday that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided that the government will give 50 scholarship opportunities in the heritage sector at Masters level.

At the press briefing, Minister Naseer said that the ministry is preparing training for higher education courses regarding the heritage industry. 

The minister also said that the courses would begin this coming January.

During yesterday's briefing, Adam Naseer said that they have been attempting to, and are yet to be successful, in including Maldives in the World Heritage List for the last 14 years. for the art of coral stone work done in Maldives.

Nevertheless, the minister said that they have begun their efforts yet again, with new research and evidence being gathered, with relevant documents to be submitted to the relevant parties in January.

As per Adam Naseer, they are working to bring an end to Maldivian nationality and identity being "just a feeling", with work to bring about scientific and intellectual concepts to the forefront.

He also said that intellectual concepts related to Maldivian nationality have been provided to more than 3,000 people. Adam Naseer went on to say that the project to revive the effects of Maldivian kings has also begun, with the practical work being undertaken at HA. Utheemu. 

"This project pertains to the development of Boduthakurufaanu's door and the Kandhuvalu Mosque's surroundings. The practical work is now underway," said the minister.

"Along with that, the effects of Maldivian kings at Thakandhoo and Baarah will also have these changes be brought about, with work being done in development to bring about revenue."
