Maumoon hospitalised, condition not critical

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom has been hospitalised at Dharumavantha Hospital in Malé.

The former president tweeted this evening about his condition; he said he was doing well.

In 2020, Gayyoom, who is 85-years-old, tested positive for Covid-19 and was hospitalised for three weeks. However, he recovered and was active soon after.

Maumoon’s Maldives Reform Movement (MRM) is part of the ruling coalition.
