MPL to assist in emergency facilities procurement of regional airports

An MoU was signed today between Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) to facilitate the procurement of emergency facilities required for RACL airports through MPL.

In a ceremony held at MLP, the agreement was signed by Managing Director of RACL Ahmed Mubeen and CEO of MPL Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim.

RACL stated that this agreement would enable the company to seek support from MPL in arranging various land and sea facilities necessary to restore airport operations in emergency situations.

The agreement will also enable operations to continue without disruption of services provided to the public even in an emergency situation, RACL said.

Currently RACL operates one international and six domestic airports in the country.
